Originally in Christianity, the term ‘hermit’ was applied to a Christian who lives the eremitic life out of a religious conviction, namely the Desert Theology of the Old Testament (i.e. the forty years wandering in the desert that was meant to bring about a change of heart). In the ascetic eremitic life, the hermit seeks solitude for meditation, contemplation, and prayer without the distractions of contact with human society, sex, or the need to maintain socially acceptable standards of cleanliness or dress.
The Major Arcanas of the Tarot portrays the Hermit as one who has internalized the lessons of life to the point that he is the lesson. In other words, the term hermit is associated with those who find not the need to abide by society in order to achieve greater wisdom.
Nowdays, those referred to as hermits are basically just social recluses, those who pretty much shun society and human companionship. Spending their days in utter emo-ness or depression, rotting away bit by bit… cough ehem. Uh, anyway, that was a long and serious introduction, save for the choking on words bit. Oh, hermits can also refer to a spiced cookie made with molasses, raisins, and nuts >_>.
Uh, right. Today we’ll be looking at the fall of the hermits in recent decades… or something like that. Anyway, in this day and age, unless one finds oneself in an internal struggle or some manga-ish krap like that or if one’s just a weird religious old coot (no offence dudes), one would not find the need to exclude oneself from society just to find enlightenment. One can choose to seek further education, travel the world, or get high on weed, among other things.
Why lock yourself up in a room all the time, life ain’t THAT krap. Find the courage to seek a new beginning, unless life IS that krap, there are OTHER alternatives ehem… Believe it or not I’ve had my fair shares of depression. No I’m not sniffing coke. If your down just by experiencing pain then you’re WEAK muwahahaha. That’s right, you’ve heard this from countless mangas that have the word “drama” attached to it. After all, only by experiencing pain can one know the true meaning of happiness. Oh krap, I think I just blurted out a totally fine quote of the day… Damn, curse the train of enlightening thoughts, you never come at the right time.
Uh, anyway, I’m bored now so Imma not write anything else. Ending the post with a quote as per usual:
“History only repeats itself for those who are unwilling to change it”
Let me tell you noobs out there, this is like one of, if not my all time favourite quote. So may this quote shine true light upon those who are afraid of being hurt again and guide them towards a brighter tomorrow. Unless you have not a shred of humanity left in that pitiful shell you call a body. Seriously, I think Johnie might be right. I’m pretty suitable to be one of those religious propaganda-ists… whatever they’re called… Even Shakespeare’s feeling proud in his grave. Uh, so till next time etc…
