The Gendie-Bendie of Suzumiya Haruhi

June 29, 2008

Maybe its cuz I never bother to surf forums, but I’ve only recently found out bout the new Suzumiya Haruhi Genderbending project. Apprently, it started cuz some people on 2chan thought it would be funny if the genders in Haruhi were all reversed, and thus, started to make fanart (as they ussually do on 2chan). Then it was blown outta proportions into this hugeass fan based project, and people are even petitioning for an official anime season based on it.

So, what comes outta the Genderbender of Suzumiya Haruhi? Much lolwut. Personally, I find almost anything that has the word genderbender associated with it to be instant win (of course there are exceptions that quite often result in instant fail). Asides from the fanart, there are like thousans of doujins, (unofficial) merchandise, and a doujin game is in the making iirc. People started digitally tuning the image songs from the anime so they’d sound like their bended counterpart. Some were extremely good, some failed… well, alot failed. Baka-tsuki is also doing a parodied genderbender translation of the original novels, so check those out at their website (google it, too lazy to link).

Well then, I’ll start by introducing those who are unaware to the new SOS-dan!:

From left to right:

  • Itsuko: щ(゚Д゚щ) rejoice fellow males! You will no longer have to feel awkward or desperately try to make it to the puking bag when Itsuki is being ambiguously gay! Why? Cuz he and Kyon are now female, thats why! This project has blessed us with possibilities far beyond your wildest imaginations! Not to mention she’s pretty openly lesbian in the doujins and 4koma I’ve seen, but that’s just doujins and 4komas. Anyway, all hail yurism!!
  • Haruki/Haruhiko: personally I prefer Haruki, but meh. Anyway, yeah, Haruhi ist now a freakin’ dood. I could pass off her antics cuz she wus a girl but… well, we’ll just have to wait and see how this comes out. Oh yeah, and instead of pulling on Kyon’s collar/necktie, he now pulls on Kyonko’s ponytail (which is kinda cruel) or just carry her like a ricebag. On a side note, I feel that the hairband is outta place, and personally prefer the earphones version of Haruki better, but this was the best picture I could find of the entire group.
  • Kyonko: YES! Kyon is no longer the ordinary sarcastic and gloomy guy with “sigh” for a quote that he once was. He has now been transformed into the sarcastically tsundere moe Kyonko with “sigh” for a quote (if you didn’t understand a word of what I just said, I suggest you use wiki). I mean, Kyonko is apprently so moe that fanboys all over the world are fainting at the sight of her… and I’d AGREE O.o She’s been designed to take full advantage of Kyon’s ponytail fetish, it seems. Google for more glorious pictures of the moe tsundere Kyonko.
  • Yuuki: yes isn’t Japanese great? Add an extra ‘u’ and Yuki is transformed into her male counterpart. In contrast to his original form, Yuuki is now the tallest member of the SOS-dan. He’s still Yuki inside though, and this pretty much makes the hordes of fangirls world-wide worship him, and drool uncontrollably just by seeing an image of him. No glasses Yuuki is kinda weird though, for sum reason.
  • Mitsuru: Mikuru hasn’t changed much, really. He’s still short, and girly-faced. Not much to say about him, he’s still being forced to dress in costumes, which I don’t feel that, uh, excited about >_> But the wimpy personality is kinda weird on a guy… Fans are speculating that the “power” that once resided in her chest area has now been relocated to a more, er, appropiate place…  as shown below in this 4koma I found:

Anyway, heres an image of the original SOS-dan for those who don’t know them(and I suggest you drown yourself in the glorious win that is Haruhism this damned instant), and a tribute to the incredibly moe tsundere Kyonko (yes, I like using that line, so sue me):

Fame for Fail

June 26, 2008

As some of you might have (the heart to) notice, I haven’t posted since forever. Why? A question so easy a first grader could answer it. I had EXAMS >_> and ESSAYS… Don’t get me started on those. Anyway, my fountain of philosophical knowledge has been totally depleted from such events, so I’m quite afraid that I’m simply not up to the task of being sarcastic today. Right, so Johnie and I stumbled upon the horror known as Hollywood’s new Dragonball movie (actually Gunboy just kinda threw it in our face). Yes, DRAGONBALL.

Now, I wasn’t as skeptical about this as I normally am for almost everything other form of entertainment on the face of this planet. HOWEVER, I checked out the website that Gunboy threw me, and realised that hopes exists only to be horribly crushed. So, Imma go over the few things that shocked me the most:

Basically this movie is centred around the events of the original Dragonball no? So Goku is like what, 14? Not to mention he looks like a ten year old in the manga/anime. Yet, he’s played by Justin Chatwin whos 26 years old… Thats like twice the age. Not to mention he doesn’t look anything like Goku, yet the director thinks he does. I advise him to go see a doctor >_>. Basically everyone’s alot older, and Bulma’s hair ain’t blue. I got nothing for the blue hair, but I’m sure some fans will be epicly pissed off about that.  Btw, Johnie was extremely dissapointed when he found out that Emmy Rossum plays Bulma, cuz he has the idea that people associated with classical couldn’t stoop to such lows. Oh yeah, Chow Yun Fat doesn’t look pervy enuf to be Master Roshi, nor thin enuf…

I got this from wiki but:

  •  A large amount of Dragonball was shot in an abandoned jeans factory => ’nuff said.
  •  In adapting the Dragon Ball manga, the futuristic cities were kept, however, the anthropomorphic creatures and talking animals (such as Turtle, Oolong and Puar) were dropped => Animal mistreatment? Basically we have no talking animals…
  • Goku is described as ”a powerful warrior who protects the Earth from an endless stream of rogues bent on dominating the universe and controlling the mystical objects from which the film takes its name”. Which is true enough for DBZ…. but this is Dragonball…

Well, this movie screams of major FAIL. I’d be suprised if it proves me wrong… I also feel that this post will rouse major flames and hate mails from ‘fans’, but meh, no one cares. Anw, Imma finish off with dialogue between me and Johnie:

Johnie: …
Shiki: dood
Shiki: i totally agree with u
Shiki: i du NOT wanna c dis movie
Johnie: well actually
Johnie: download it => ehem, FBI agents out there, he’s just kiddin
Shiki: yea
Johnie: then keep it smwhere safe
Shiki: and?
Johnie: l8r on use it as an instrument of torture
Johnie: for ur kids
Shiki: …
Johnie: … no that’s actually TOO harsh
Johnie: on ur enemies
Shiki: man
Shiki: just
Shiki: man…
Johnie: … i know

Model Birthday Gundam 00

June 7, 2008

Ah~ I feel what one feels after spending 5 and a half hours working nonstop on a gundam model – like krap. But other than that, I also feel a sense of accomplishment when looking at my awesome 1/100 Gundam Kyrios that I got for my birthday yesterday (Happy Birthday me!). Anyway, I’m not gonna go into the details of the kit or review it if thats what your expecting, I’m too freakin’ tired and I need to save my energy for the major revision-ing that I must do tonight. Not to mention I don’t have that sort of skill or experience, seeing as how this is my third model (the previous two being 1/100 High Grade Strike Freedom and Master Grade Freedom). Yes, I’m a Freedom fanboy, so sue me.

Anyway, the kit itself was 1/100 with no grade, but I’d have to say that it surpasses my 1/100HG Strike Freedom by FAR. Not to mention its slightly bigger, but that could just be cuz the Kyrios is bigger than the Strike Freedom… kinda weird though… The joints on the Kyrios are tough (for lack of a better word) and help keep it stable. As opposed to my Strike Freedom who can’t even hold its guns properly anymore… the only complaints I have about the joints is that the ones attaching the Kyrios’s legs to its lower torso is pretty weak. So it does those ballet spreads alot, unless you position it right…

However, this kit is still lacking a few details to make it comparable to a MG. The interior has little to no detail. The torso is definitely lacking in the shoulder joints department. Not to mention ya can’t open the cockpit (but that’s to be expected though). The fingers are those snap-on-for-posing ones, meaning they can’t move. The head is pretty detailed though, and other than the things mentioned, its VERY near to a MG. Oh yeah, its slightly smaller than my Freedom, so I guess its still 1/100 after all.

The one thing I would praise Bandai INFINITELY for are those new GN beam sabers. Their shape is slightly flat so it makes them SO MUCH MORE stable than the round beam sabers. And the ones in this kit had pretty high quality too. Oh yeah, I found the stickers to be slightly dissapointing. The green ones for the camera/lights thingies on the GN Gundams are very dark, so it looks kinda black if you don’t pay close attention. And the one on the Kyrios’s forehead should be dark green with green in the middle, but Bandai decided to be lazy and put it as green and silver/white in the middle, which kinda pissed me off since it made the head look stupid. The hand joints are also pretty weak, and they fell off a few times while I was trying to transform the Kyrios into its waverider mode.

Anyway, overall I’d give it a 8/10, considering how it doesn’t have a grade. I’m definitely looking forward to the MG releases of gundam Exia and gundam 00. 00 will prolly take awhile though… Oh yes, I’ve also noticed how I’ve neglected the philosophical side to this blog, so I’ll try to get into rambling about something next time. For now, enjoy these pictures with krappy resolution and lighting of my 1/100 Gundam Kyrios model, and thanks everyone for getting me this awesome model and informing me that Canberra actually has a place that sells em >_>:

SOLDIER

June 5, 2008

So, some of you might have noticed that I haven’t posted anything for awhile now. Well, thats cuz I wus busy with exam preparation and uh… other stuff… Alright its cuz I was hooked on Final Fantasy 7: Crisis Core… But I DID finish an essay in three days, so cut me some slack. Anyway, Crisis Core is the latest instalmentof the Final Fantasy 7 series for the PSP. Basicaly tells the events before FF7 took place. Today, this’ll be the first ever GAMES post! Yes! Glad that you’re glad to hear it!

As expected of Square Enix, people… Just the freakin first minute of the game blew me away. The graphics are EXCELLENT, as always, both in cutscenes and in-game. Man, this is probably the PSP game with the best graphics for years to come. The summon are all done cutscenestyle, and MAN are they… amazing. Odin’s summoning was my particular favourite, just for the sheer awesomeness of it. Even the SLIGHTEST emotions are displayed with great detail, and not only just in the cutscences. The only thing I’d have to complain about the graphics is that… well, the characters’ eyes are… unusually big. Well, not TOO big, but… bigger… its kinda in your face. I guess it helps with displaying SOLDIERs’ makoeyes but… They kinda freak me out, you know? Also, theres like this over-abuse of usage of flip cell phones. I mean, we noticed this in Advent Children but, this is just too much. They use it everywhere, ain’t it inconvenient? I mean you gotta take em out and flip the things. Not to mention Zack keeps his in his back pocket… and he falls on his ass alot fighting monsters… wouldn’t it break? Anyway, that aside, graphics was pure pwnage.

As for gameplay, CC is reminescence of Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories, really. Basically you control Zack, equip him with Materia and weapons. In battle, you use the R & L buttons to scroll commands, which include attack, materiausage, items… The battles are action packed, but still having that Final Fantasy feel to it. In CC you can fuse materias and add extra statuses for them such as +1MAG or +10%HP, etc… And if you know how to do it, you can max stats without cheating. But don’t think it makes Zack uber. Cuz as long as it aint cheating… Square’s got something to deal with it. MY only complaint is that you can’t jump. It doesn’t hinder battles or movements or anything but, kinda pisses me off how you can’t jump >_> Then again, doesn’t really matter. Battles start off as easy but… you’ll see…Theres also that problem with… the DUBBING… I swear, if only I didn’t slack off and chat about anime and manga in my Japanese classes I wouldn’t have to put up with the dubbing. I mean the dubbing is expected from Square but, MAN sometimes its SO freakin awkward! Aerith for example, oh goduniversal knowledge, I know the voice fits her but she’s sooooo weird. And its too highpitched… Sigh, damn my laziness… Other than the main story, you’ve got missions, which are side quests for you to get stuff, level up, etc… Theres about 250 of em… Zas right, two hundred and fifty OR MORE freakin’ missions. Seriously, it gets tedious after awhile… Oh right, you also see Yuffie alot in the missions… it’s pretty funny really, can’t imagine that she was such a cry-baby, she’es still the same money loving materia snatching ninja brat though. Too bad she sucks at fighting… Then again, just a lil’ girl.

Uh, I think that pretty much covers it. I mean this game was great, makes me wanna watch Advent Children again. I’d play FF7 (on the PS1) again, if the graphics didn’t suck so bad and “fully completing” the game didn’t take FOREVER. Sigh, I wich they’d remake it on the PS2 or PSP or sumthing. Why not PS3? HA! Simple… cuz I’m cheap and don’t wanna buy one. That and also cuz the PS3 has alot of krap… like a FEW of my favourite games either dying or getting messed up if they ever touch the PS3… Anyway, here’s my rating:

Graphics: I wish I could go higher, but 10.

Gameplay: 9.5 (Subtracted 0.5 for the freakin missions and the…. dubbing)

Plot: Can’t go over… can I… 10

Overall: 9.8

This game MUST be bought (uh… ehem… uh… DL is also a, ehem, possibility… You don’t even know what DL stands for in this context so don’t patronise me! It could be Dork Land for all you know!). Anyway, graphics and gameplay aside, I would recommend this game for the plot alone… Powerful man, except for the overuse of dreams and honour… you kinda go “YES WE KNOW ALREADY” after awhile. Well, at least we got to see how everyone became emo and died. Uh… did I spoil abit? Well, we all know Zack dies, so yeah, I didn’t do anything wrong >_> Oh yeah, storyline wise, there’re a few bits that are different from the original FF7, as with the bit in Nibelheim (Cloud & Tifa’s hometown, where that infamous “Sephiroth-sama in the fire ring scene happened”, for those who forgot). But, could just be my sucky memory. Haven’t played it in 4 years after all. Anyway, get this game or the Buster Sword will fall down from the sky and deal 99999 damage on your pitiful self. What? Don’t have a PSP? SLAP SLAP! Get a hold of yourself komrade! Go buy one O.O! YES JUST FOR THIS GAME ALONE! Ok, no, I’m joking please don’t go buy one just cuz I sed so don’t sue me I don’t like courts you get krappy food in jail….

Alright, now that I have ‘beaten’ Crisis Core (I WILL go back and beat the krap out of Minerva… someday…) there are a few, heh, games on my list which I shall indulge in after beating the krap out of my exam papers:

  • Gundam SEED: Rengou vs. ZAFT (FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEDOM)
  • Fate – Battle Colosseum (Chibi Saber and co., what more could you ask for?)
  • SD Gundam G Generation Portable (Chibi STRIKE FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEDOM)
  • Princess Crown (Come on people, it’s the spiritual predecessor of Odin Sphere, thats all you need)
  • Tales of Eternia (Man, I played this like 3 times on the PS1, and thats a lot for a game with 3 discs)

Well zas it for today… Man I ended up writing alot. So finishing off with a quote from CC’s title screen:

“Men cry not for themselves but for their comrades.”

May FF7 creep into your hearts and forever live on as the greatest RPG of all time. Ehem, big exaggeration there…

Canta per me

May 28, 2008

Just when I thought that all was lost in the world of Japanese music, I found songs that once again levitated my soul to the divine state known as “addiction”. If you’re wondering ‘where the hell is the philosophy in this’, you’ll be delighted to know that this post has absolutely nothing to do with my usual philosophical ramblings whatsoever. Yes, that’s right, this is the first of a series of occasional posts that I shall dedicate to the wonders of music (mainly J-related stuff). Anyhoo, let’s get started shall we?

Today I’ll be going on about two artists. The 1st being Itou Kanako. Seriously, I was totally addicted to ‘Kimi to Yozora to Sakamichi to’ (Myself;Yourself) when it 1st came out. But I recently searched for more of her music and found a number of songs that I felt were exceptional. Itou Kanako’s songs are usually either upbeat and fastpaced or soft with a low tempo. I prefer the former, though. ’Kimi to…’ had an unusually catchy tune to it, even though it had lots of repeats the flow was consistent and kept the listener (me, really) wanting to come back for more. I also reccomend the following songs, aside from ‘Kimi to…’ (List goes: Song – Anime/Game it comes from (my thoughts)):

  • I Bless Thy Life – Angelos Armas (eroge, uh… this song is good but, the Engrish is… well Engrish is never good. Btw, for those who don’t know Engrish is just basically Japanese ppl speaking bad English in a Japanese manner, due to their language. Or as wiki puts it: grammatically incorrect variations of English, often found in East Asian countries.)
  • Heartbreaking Romance – Hatenkou Yuugi, aka. Dazzle (this song is rather… weird, but I liked it for some reason, Engrish again though)
  • Garasu no Kutsu (Glass Shoes) – Saya no Uta (yes, another eroge)
  • Saya no Uta – from, you guessed it, Saya no Uta (this song is creepy~, in a good way though)
  • Find the Blue – Chaos;Head (No, I didn’t make a grammar mistake. It actually IS ; followed by Head without spacing. Anyway, yet another eroge)

Her songs mostly come from visual novels (the majority of which are eroge) or anime adaptations of visual novels. I dunno but, songs for eroges (the ones with actual plot) are really good, with nice meaningful lyrics. Maybe its due to the good plots, but then again, I’ve never played an eroge before so I don’t really know…

The 2nd artist of the day is Kajiura Yuki. Her songs have this mysterious and fantasy feel to them, and are supremely addictive. Seriously, you can get high on these songs… ehem… Right, uh, where was I, ah yes. I’ll be looking specifically at Oblivious, which recently came out as the Ending theme to the first Kara no Kyoukai ~ Garden of Sinners movie. This song is composed by Kajiura and performed by the group know as Kalafina. They also did the endings for the 3 following movies (I think they’ll also do the EDs for the last 3 movies as well, 7 movies in total).

Anyway, the song itself is as expected from Kajiura Yuki, overflowing with this mysterious feel to it. The overture starts off with a fantasy-ish feeling, and gets the listener into the mood nicely. The tempo has a nice consistent feel to it. Uh… actually I shouldn’t be getting too technical seeing as how I know almost completely nothing about music theory. The pros out there, please don’t laugh at me if I get stuff wrong or say something stupid -_-’. Uh anyway, the chorus is excellent though, save for the… Engrish… Seriously at first I thought ‘We go further in the destiny’ was some Kajiuran (basically a made up language by Kajiura used in her songs as part of the chorus or the entire song) thing again. It sounded like ‘Hi to fanzer en za distini’, and I’m not gonna even go into the (possible) grammar errors, no offence Kalafina. Anyway, recommendations:

  • Ensei – Mai HiME (pretty standard Kajiura Yuki song, but nevertheless, still great)
  • Mezame – same as above
  • Canta per me – Noir (this song is GOOD, so good I put it as the freaking title, so good I’m listening to it right now! There’s an Italian version and a Japanese version as well as a few remixes, but I definitely prefer the original Italian version)
  • A Song of Storm and Fire – Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles (a must have. I was addicted to this for months on end. The song is entirely in Kajiuran, but it just contributes to that mysterious fantasy feeling)
  • Sychronicity – Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles ~ Tokyo Relevations (this is sung by Makino Yui, who’s voice I felt didn’t fit this song very much, but meh, I guess main heroine’s seiyuu/voice actor gets priority. Still a kickass song nonetheless)

Well, that’s pretty much it for today. The anime songs can be downloaded from Gendou.com. I keep telling people this but, its free and has THOUSANDS of songs. You just need to register, sheesh. Oh yeah, don’t use download accelerators and the like or you’ll get banned, FAST. Uh, the others songs can be accessed through the all powerful being know as Google. I’ve found them so you should be able to as well…

Zomg, this post has become half as long as the essay I’m supposed to be working on now… Damn… Well don’t be expecting any quotes today. Addio.

Seeking Wisdom? Or just plain reclused?

May 26, 2008

Originally in Christianity, the term ‘hermit’ was applied to a Christian who lives the eremitic life out of a religious conviction, namely the Desert Theology of the Old Testament (i.e. the forty years wandering in the desert that was meant to bring about a change of heart). In the ascetic eremitic life, the hermit seeks solitude for meditation, contemplation, and prayer without the distractions of contact with human society, sex, or the need to maintain socially acceptable standards of cleanliness or dress.

The Major Arcanas of the Tarot portrays the Hermit as one who has internalized the lessons of life to the point that he is the lesson. In other words, the term hermit is associated with those who find not the need to abide by society in order to achieve greater wisdom.

Nowdays, those referred to as hermits are basically just social recluses, those who pretty much shun society and human companionship. Spending their days in utter emo-ness or depression, rotting away bit by bit… cough ehem. Uh, anyway, that was a long and serious introduction, save for the choking on words bit. Oh, hermits can also refer to a spiced cookie made with molasses, raisins, and nuts >_>.

Uh, right. Today we’ll be looking at the fall of the hermits in recent decades… or something like that. Anyway, in this day and age, unless one finds oneself in an internal struggle or some manga-ish krap like that or if one’s just a weird religious old coot (no offence dudes), one would not find the need to exclude oneself from society just to find enlightenment. One can choose to seek further education, travel the world, or get high on weed, among other things.

Why lock yourself up in a room all the time, life ain’t THAT krap. Find the courage to seek a new beginning, unless life IS that krap, there are OTHER alternatives ehem… Believe it or not I’ve had my fair shares of depression. No I’m not sniffing coke. If your down just by experiencing pain then you’re WEAK muwahahaha. That’s right, you’ve heard this from countless mangas that have the word “drama” attached to it. After all, only by experiencing pain can one know the true meaning of happiness. Oh krap, I think I just blurted out a totally fine quote of the day… Damn, curse the train of enlightening thoughts, you never come at the right time.

Uh, anyway, I’m bored now so Imma not write anything else. Ending the post with a quote as per usual:

“History only repeats itself for those who are unwilling to change it”

Let me tell you noobs out there, this is like one of, if not my all time favourite quote. So may this quote shine true light upon those who are afraid of being hurt again and guide them towards a brighter tomorrow. Unless you have not a shred of humanity left in that pitiful shell you call a body. Seriously, I think Johnie might be right. I’m pretty suitable to be one of those religious propaganda-ists… whatever they’re called…  Even Shakespeare’s feeling proud in his grave. Uh, so till next time etc…

The Horror is Reborn

May 24, 2008

Yes… I originally intended to complete these two 2000 words essays like a week ago…. But, well, things got outta hand, especially with those damned tutorial quizzes. Macross Frontier, Code Geass and Nodame Cantabile Live Action SP was also a bit of a problem… ehem >_>. Anyway, I guess it’s time I went on an all out battle against the axis of political evil. I DEFINATELY won’t get into that “zOMFG its due tomorrow and I still have 1000 freakin’ words to write” situation, seeings as how theres still a month left and I’ve written some 500 words :-”. Well, uni students tend to get into that situation… alot, and I’m not just defending myself either <_<.

Well, at least I won’t have four exams, and especially not two on the same day like some other unlucky chap, cough cough. Meh, I’ve also noticed how mah posts have become longer and longer over the course of time. And now that I’ve NOTICED, I feel kinda pressured to write more… Man,  won’t I ever escape from this hellish fate of barely being able to push out one or two more words?! Then again, not having enough words to write was/is also krap.

When I first got into uni my dearest mother was like: “Meh, we had to write 20 to 50 pages when I was doing my Masters Degree.” I thought, “Woah… 20 to 40 pages, most krap.” Well, nowadays I write 10 to 15 freakin pages all the time. Ugh, just thinking about it makes me wanna throw this brick (collection of chapters assorted books that students HAVE to buy (its worth it though, and you won’t get through the courses otherwise) that looks AND feels like a freaking brick) out the window.

Oh yes, let me also spend some time bitchin about mediafire. As you all might’ve noticed, mediafire has gone to, please excuse the language, shit. A few days before, one (me) would’ve downloaded to 99% and had to pause the download, resume, and let it download the freakin file again or else it woulda just stopped at 99% and DIED. Well as of yesterday, the file would download to 99% and the connection DIES, PERIOD. This conversation between me and Johnie goes to show you how much mediafire has fallen:

Johnie: …..
Johnie: well
Johnie: collective overuse, i’d say
Shiki: sigh
Shiki: i mean at 1st
Shiki: mf was this god that had descended to the earthly hell of shitty ddl providers
Shiki: then that god slowly decayed and fell to krap as well
Shiki: well rapidshare is regaining its status as god
Shiki: but lots of noobs still up to mf!!
Shiki: >.<
Johnie: well
Johnie: “& god sees to it that he was more abused than the basest whore in Bangcock
Johnie: “thousands of dl-ers gang through him every single day
Johnie: “so god sez, ’screw u guys, i’m goin’ home’
Johnie: “thus endeth der divine host”

Man, I laughed HARD at that… Goes to show you should be like me and not believe in gods. Alright, lets end this freakishly long post with today’s philosophical quote:

“There are no Gods, only the living, and the dead.”

With that I bid you adieu. Till next time fellow pursuers of true knowledge.

Randomness BANZAI

May 21, 2008

Well, after sufferring from slight stomach problems >_>, I am now going on an all out all Japan cuisine week as natural treatment. Of course… I’m still cooking, I ain’t rich enough to go out to Jappo places for an entire week. The day before was ramen, yesterday was nikujaga (beef stew Jappo vers.) and today was kitsune udon (buckwheat noodle soup with fried tofu sheets). I messed up the aburaage (fried tofu sheets) though. They turned out all crispy-ish… Aus sucks for not selling that stuff even in oriental stores… Meh, dunno what I’ll have tomorrow though, but I’m making Chirashizushi Shiki-style on Friday (its Fri after all).

I noticed how this has just become my random blog. There ain’t any philosphies anymore. So Imma discuss some today, finally! So you know how people tend to think, “I’m alone in this world but I can do it” and stuff like that right? Well news for them, you’re not alone (actually you might be, in which case sucks for you), nor can you do things by yourself. Just by LIVING you’re depending on other people! Ha! Zas rite! Just by eating you’re depending on the supermarket or butcher or grocery stores or whatever that provides you with food/ingredients. By turning on your PC/laptop you’re relying on the electric company! Hell, even when you’re working you’re depending on your fellow workers or on your boss (to pay you, mainly). If its a self owned kinda thing, you rely on rentors and etc… In short?! Humans can’t survive alone. Just a matter of time till loners die out… heh heh heh… cough ehem.

So I shall end with this philosophical quote that I’m not all that happy about:

“If we fear what we cannot truly see, what we cannot truly hear, what we cannot truly feel… We should fear ourselves…”

Its kinda long… Meh. Then fellow pursuers of true knowledge, till next time.

Absence and Re-emergence

May 13, 2008

Psh, damn Aussie services have to be so frickin’ systematic. I went without internet for the last freakin two weeks cuz of their idiocy. To sum it up, my phone service contract ended so they cut, and my ISP saw that my phone was cut so they cut the net too, but this was all fine and dandy, since I wanted to switch ISPs anyway. But when I got mah phone reconnected (like three frickin’ days later) and signed up for a new service, they wouldn’t freakin let us (me and mah flatmate, if that’s what you wanna call him) sign up cuz the addresses were different. So we were like wtf and called up the phone provider (Telstra, as you might have guessed) and it turns out they got our address (the suburb) wrong for some screwed up reason. So we called the ISP and told them the deal, but noooooo, they can’t give us internet if the addresses were different. All of the aforementioned took some four days mind you. So we had to sign up for internet again with the screwed up address from the phone provider. So we waited 7 (working) days for our internet to get activated. So basically, we were screwed. I felt like such a hick without interent…

Alright, enough about Aussie services and their stupidity. I dled this little doujin today, and thort this part was funny as hell, mebbe even for those who don’t know wtf Code Geass is:

Anyway, the doujin is Code Geachu, written by whoever did Nano Strikers, which was also as funny as hell, and scanlated by J-Sis. Search for it on MangaUpdates.

Uh, right, philosophical ramblings. I’m feeling lazy today so I’ll leave you with a quote. If you want more wiki Karl Marx or sumthing.

True fate is achieved by defying a predetermined destiny.

Yes, this was totally influenced by superb RPGs such as Riviera Yakushoku no Chi (the promised land) and Odin Sphere, both of which I recommend.

Death and Rebirth

April 29, 2008

No, this is not a post about how krappy Evangelion’s OVA/movie thingy was.

As you all know, I was on the verge of death as I was writing 6000 freakin words of pure Soviet krap. I finally felt reborn as I handed in the 2nd one today. But mah tutor had to go and ruin it by saying, I won’t give you the topics for your next 2000 (x2) words essays YET. I’ll wait until a week after for you to be deluded by the sweetness of free life then I’ll hand them out when its ever so close to your exams.

Well, looks like I’m alive again for another week. Seriously, I feel as if college was kindergarten compared to Uni (YES! Omg! For who don’t / has never (hopefully will never, no offense Aussies) live in Australia, High School is called college here).  Anywho, Johnie refused me the joy of rebirth by forgetting to bring me the game cds I asked of him. Even though I spent like 5 mins yelling at him to stuff it in his bag. But noooooo he was like: I’ll wait and see if I can remember later on in the evening, kho`h kho`h kho`h (<- his trademark weirdass pervert old man dying while high on cocaine laugh).

Alright, back to philosphical ramblings. Right, so as you all know, death is an inevitable part of life. If you didn’t, too bad, ya do NOW (and seriously, read more books or something). Ehem, so, why do humans continue on living knowing that they’ll eventually die and be reduced to nothingness (actually, you’ll be reduced to an old corpse rotting away six feet under the cold wet icky ground while nature is sucking every last bit of you out to make the ground around your grave green and lively, ironic eh?). In any case, what are we living for? Is it for the sake of sadistically bringing more of us to this miserable world or suffering and cruelty? Or is it for the sake of our utterly infinite egos, preserving the existence of a bloodthirsty and war-mongering race? Well, in Johnie’s case it’d be for the sake of being as indebted as possible to brothels and the like. But he’s “special”, so we’ll disregard him. I guess every individual has a different reason for their existence. Some realise it and some don’t.

Well, I’ve wasted that last paragraph trying to make you people who read my posts (I’m feeling like theres no1, sniff) to feel most krap about your own existence. Fun, eh?

Too bad, there ain’t no philosophical quote today. Instead, I’ll leave you with dis link and some of mah anger.

http://zepy.momotato.com/2008/04/27/mx0-to-end-in-shounen-jump/

YES! OMFG they’re killing Mx0!!!!! DIE JUMP DIE!!!! Dammit, I swear to god universal knowledge that Jump has been taken over by a bunch of monkey high on caffeine. Seriously, Mx0 of all mangas?! ZOMG I’ll even believe in god or buddha or watnot if some other publisher picks this up. Dear mother of all living existence please let Bush hit his head on the “Launch nukes by accident” while they’re doing a test targetting and is aiming at wherever the hell Jump’s located (I know its in Japan at least, so shut up).

So, I tribute half-ish of this post as a farewell to Mx0’s crazy ecchi magical rampaging hormones school-life cute girls goodness… May you rest in peace… Sniff.
